Nutrien has announced the temporary shut down of one of its facilities in Pt Lisas Trinidad for a period of 3 months.

According to Bloomberg, the company has indicated that this is in response to the current price of ammonia.

Nutrien currently operates 4 ammonia plants in Trinidad and one urea plant. The plant that will be shut down is an ammonia plant which produces approximately 600,000 mt/y. The other plants will continue to function at normal rates.

The company has indicated to local media that the shut down of the plant will not affect headcount at the company.
