Trinidad and Tobago NGL Limited (TTNGL) has published its financial results for the period ending 30 June 2023, which reflects operational and market challenges impacting its underlying asset, Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited (PPGPL).

Trinity Exploration has confirmed the Jacobin-1 oil discovery in the Palo Seco area. The company has stated that over 290 feet of net oil pay was encountered in the Jacobin well, including 63 feet of net oil pay in the deeper exploration targets.

The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited has received notice that one of it’s major upstream suppliers of natural gas was forced to shut in its gas production due to an unplanned technical issue.

CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA), an international marine environmental consulting and survey company, today announced the conclusion of a post drill monitoring survey (PDMS) offshore Trinidad for a local upstream oil and gas operator. The well was drilled by the operator during May to August 2022, with CSA completing the PDMS in November 2022 in full accordance with local regulatory requirements.

The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) deepened its presence and participation along the local natural gas value chain, with its latest acquisition of shareholdings in several upstream gas assets. Following the execution of a Sales and Purchase Agreement in July 2021, NGC E&P Investments Limited - a wholly owned subsidiary of NGC - completed the acquisition of Heritage Petroleum Company Limited’s (Heritage’s) participating interest in the Offshore Blocks NCMA 4 (20%), Block 22 (10%) and Block 9 (100%), which are in Trinidad’s North Coast Marine Area (NCMA). It also acquired Heritage’s 19.5% shareholding in Point Fortin LNG Exports Limited (PFLE). Gas is sold to NGC for the Domestic market and to PFLE for the LNG export market.

The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica has signed a Framework Agreement that will initiate the first large-scale green hydrogen geothermal development in the Caribbean. This milestone agreement represents a material step taken by a Caribbean island to monetise its significant geothermal resources on a large scale, through its generation of green hydrogen and green electricity both for export and local consumption. 

Trinity Exploration has indicated in their operational update that wellsite preparation for the onshore deep Jacobin well is underway, with the well expected to spud in late April.
