All organizations are striving to create a world of work that is safe, healthy and
sustainable. The IOSH Managing Safely workshop will assist companies in
achieving this objective. This course is designed for those required to manage
safely and effectively in compliance with both their organization’s policy and
best practice in health and safety. Participants will be encouraged to apply all
theories learnt to their current work environment.

On successful completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:

• Explain working safely
• Explain the component parts of a recognized safety management system
  such as HSG65 or BS 8800 and appreciate the role of risk assessment
  within the system
• Compare safety management systems with other management systems
  and describe how to integrate successfully if appropriate
• Identify the data and techniques required to produce an adequate record
  of an incident and demonstrate the procedure for an accident
  investigation, recognizing the human factors involved
