The Bahamas Petroleum Company (BPC) has indicated that the first exploration well in their drilling campaign will begin in 2020.

The London Listed company has also indicated that it has signed a service agreement with BakerHughes for the provision of equipment for its first exploration well and it has also been reported that BPC is working toward securing financing and finalize a rig contract with Seadrill for the well.

According to Offshore Energy Today, BPC has entered into a Master Services Agreement (MSA) with Baker Hughes for the provision of specified equipment and that BPC has also placed a first purchase order with Baker Hughes, for a wellhead set, a contingency well headset, and 36″ conductor casing.

Simon Potter, chief executive of BPC, said: "Finalising the agreement with BakerHughes has enabled us to reach a long-awaited and significant milestone for our company: placing an order for the wellheads that have been made to order for our exploration well in The Bahamas.

"In ordering these high value, critical path, long-lead items, along with the other multiple work streams ongoing, management is taking demonstrative steps to ensure we remain on track for drilling to commence as per our previously announced drill schedule," Potter said.
