The Board of the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Priya Marajh as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Dr. Marajh's confirmation follows a thorough and competitive recruitment process undertaken by the Board over recent months, during which she also served as Interim Executive in charge of the Chamber's Executive Office.

Dr Marajh stepped into the role in an acting capacity in March 2026, following the departure of former President and CEO Dr. Thackwray Driver, and has led the organisation through a five-month transition period marked by continued advocacy on behalf of the energy sector, deepened regional partnerships, and steady engagement with the Chamber's membership. Her leadership during this period, together with her long-standing record at the Chamber, made her the standout candidate in the Board's search for a permanent successor. Dr. Marajh brings close to two decades of experience in the energy sector both locally and regionally to the role.

Commenting on the appointment, the Chairman of the Energy Chamber's Board stated: “The Board undertook a rigorous and comprehensive search for our next President and CEO, and Dr. Marajh emerged as the clear and outstanding choice. Her deep knowledge of the sector, her steady hand during the transition period, and her record of service to the Chamber and its members give the Board every confidence in her ability to lead the organisation into its next chapter.”

Dr. Marajh commented: “I am deeply honoured to take on this role and I am grateful for the confidence the Board has placed in me. The Energy Chamber has been my professional home for over a decade, and I look forward to continuing our work advocating for the sector, deepening our regional partnerships, and delivering value for our members as the industry continues to evolve.”

The Board and staff of the Energy Chamber congratulate Dr. Marajh on her appointment and look forward to her continued leadership.
