D2F Technical Services recently announced that it has achieved over 5 years of incident free E&I MSA services. According to the company, it executed 6 turnarounds without an incident with over 50 employees at peak load.
Colm DeFreitas, Chief Executive Officer, D2F Technical Services said, “Safety is a continuous challenge - one where even the smallest detail can have significant impact. While lagging indicators like incident-free milestones offer valuable insight, they never tell the full story. At D2F Technical Ltd, we believe there must always be a sense of chronic unease when it comes to safety. Celebrating success is important, but vigilance must remain at the highest possible level to ensure it continues.”
“That mindset has helped us achieve over five years without a recordable incident under our E&I Master Services Agreement. This includes six Turnarounds, each with resource peak loads of 50+ personnel, executed without a single safety incident. This wasn’t easy and it doesn’t mean we can let our guard down, but it does mean that several people on the field and in our head office have been working incredibly hard to even have a chance to make this milestone and we are proud to recognize that.”
DeFreitas added, “The Energy Chamber’s Safe to Work (STOW) system has led the revamp of the safety culture in Trinidad. At D2F we benefitted directly from the program and the wider environment created. That foundation helped shape our safety culture and earned us the STOW Excellence in Safety Award in 2020. We continue to build on those principles daily. The STOW program at operator sites has also helped tremendously to create safer environments. 6 TARs without a single incident are not possible without direct and indirect operator support. The STOW system has created safety focused client and contractor companies. So, we’re thankful for these awards and recognition; our teams deserve it. But we are looking ahead, staying vigilant and continuously improving. We’re focused this year on investing in advanced competency training, digital HSE integration, and stronger leadership alignment on site. Safety is a journey and a standard we choose to meet every day. And we intend to keep meeting it.”
