The Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago has, for the first time, convened a task force comprised of female professionals from member companies representing the entire energy value chain.

The task force convened formally for the first time on August 5th at the Energy Chamber's Executive Office. It is co-chaired by Denise Chinpire O’Reilly, Managing Director of KS Chinpire Contracting Services Limited, and Giselle Thompson, Deputy Managing Director of Proman.

Dr. Priya Marajh, President & CEO of the Energy Chamber, expressed pride in being able to convene the group, saying, “This Task Force represents a deliberate and important step for our industry. Women have long contributed to the strength of Trinidad and Tobago's energy sector, and it is time we build the structures, mentorship, sponsorship, and partnership, that allow that contribution to grow. I am proud of the calibre of professionals who have come together for this work, and I look forward to the impact this group will have across our sector and our communities.”

The Task Force was conceived to harness the collective strengths of its members, building a network that supports, accelerates and amplifies the impact and involvement of women in the sector, while creating systems to help girls and young women equip themselves for the opportunities that exist in the energy industry. Members agreed that mentorship, career development, sponsorship of young women, community initiatives, and strategic partnerships would form the broad pillars guiding the Task Force's work. The Task Force will also seek opportunities to create synergies that advance the Energy Chamber's key advocacy priorities.
