The Energy Chamber of Trinidad & Tobago warmly welcomes the announcement from the Honourable Kamla Persad Bissessar, Prime Minster of Trinidad & Tobago, that the Government of the United States intends to issue new OFAC licenses to allow discussions to continue with Venezuela, for the development of cross-border hydrocarbon resources.
The development of cross border fields and the importation of natural gas from Venezuela are important for the future of the Trinidad & Tobago gas and petrochemical sectors and hence for national economic development. The Energy Chamber congratulates the Honourable Prime Minister on securing the agreement from the US government during her meeting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
