Dr. The Honourable Roodal Moonilal, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, together with Minister in the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, The Honourable Ernesto Kesar; Permanent Secretary, Ms. Karinsa Tulsie; and Chief Technical Officer, Mr. Marc Rudder, met with executives of SLB at the Head Office of the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, International Waterfront Complex.
SLB delegation comprised Mrs. Carmen Rando Bejar, President, Americas, and Mr. Paul Hosein, Managing Director for Trinidad, Guyana and the Caribbean.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss SLB’s ongoing operations in Trinidad and Tobago and the company’s outlook for the local energy sector. SLB reaffirmed its commitment to Trinidad and Tobago and expressed optimism about the sector’s future, recognising the country’s longstanding history, expertise and position as a regional energy hub.
SLB also highlighted the role of the Energy Accelerator Hub in supporting its projects and in strengthening and optimizing efficiency across the energy value chain. The company reaffirmed its commitment to local content, noting that more than 95 percent of its employees in Trinidad and Tobago are nationals.
Discussions also explored opportunities for continued collaboration between SLB and the Government, including initiatives to strengthen regional energy cooperation with Guyana, Suriname and other hydrocarbon-producing countries in the Caribbean and wider region.
