Latitude Energy, in partnership with Shearwater GeoServices, has submitted a proposal to Guyana’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to conduct a 3D seismic survey across deepwater Blocks D1, D2, and D3.

The project, which carries an estimated budget of US$81 million, is scheduled to last 5.5 months. According to the project summary, the survey will cover a maximum activity area of 13,512 km2 in the northeastern section of Guyana’s offshore zone. The operations will take place in ultra-deep waters ranging from 2,500 to 3,500 meters, with the closest point of the survey located 220 kilometers from the coastline.

The targeted acreage consists of blocks that remained unawarded or unresolved following Guyana’s 2022 offshore licensing round. While Blocks D1 and D2 were among the eight areas that received offers during that auction, Block D3 was also part of the original 14-block offering. This new data acquisition phase is intended to support future exploration by providing high-quality geophysical imaging of the subsurface.
