Honeywell announced that it will design and deliver the Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS) that will help BP remotely manage its offshore compression platform off Trinidad and Tobago’s southeast coast.
According to Honeywell, the company will deliver all systems, detailed engineering and lead procurement for the integrated control and safety system. Honeywell will be main automation contractor (MAC) for the project.
The company further indicated that this is the third offshore platform for the Cassia Complex off the southeast coast of Trinidad and Tobago, with Honeywell serving as MAC.
John Rudolph, president, Honeywell Process Solutions, said that “Honeywell’s technology will enable BP Trinidad and Tobago to remotely run this typically unmanned platform efficiently, safely and with a high level of digital security”.
BPTT has stated that the Cassia Compression project will enable BPTT to access and produce low pressure gas reserves from currently producing fields in the Greater Cassia Area, maximizing recovery from these existing resources.
The project was sanctioned in 2018. It will involve the construction of a new platform, Cassia C, BPTT’s 16th offshore facility. McDermott International is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) provider for the project.
