The Honourable Stuart R. Young S.C., M.P, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister met with Atlantic LNG executives, Mr. Ronald Adams, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Atlantic LNG Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited; and Mr. Jean Andre Celestain, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Atlantic LNG Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited. The meeting took place on 19th August, 2024 at the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries’, International Waterfront Complex Head-Office, Port-of-Spain.
Discussions included the major accomplishments of Atlantic LNG for the period 2021 to 2024. Among these were the execution of complex ‘Turn Arounds’ with the ‘T2’ turnaround in 2023 and ‘T4’ turnaround in 2024. The company is also now at the implementation stage of a new Asset Management System and a Fabric Integrity Campaign geared towards accelerating the company’s asset integrity upgrade has been implemented.
Mr. Ronald Adams, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Atlantic LNG Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited, reported to Minister Young that the implementation of the company’s five-year strategic plan is proceeding at the projected pace. Mr. Adams also took the opportunity to officially introduce Mr. Jean Andre Celestain as Atlantic LNG’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) designate effective 1st October, 2024.
Minister Young thanked outgoing CEO, Mr. Ronald Adams for his dedication and keen business sense in steering the company through its complex restructuring and welcomed Mr. Jean Andre Celestain with a promise of more work due to the new arrangement for third party access to the LNG Trains which is projected to increase the output of the company’s Natural Gas Liquefaction Facility.
Atlantic LNG was successfully restructured in December 2023. The new unitised commercial structure has resulted in an increase of government shareholding through the National Gas Company (NGC) from 10% and 11.2% in trains one and four respectively to 10% government shareholding for each of the four LNG trains at no cost to the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
