The Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, The Honourable Stuart R. Young, MP, met with the European Union (EU) Ambassador, His Excellency Peter Cavendish; David Mogollon, Head of Cooperation, EU Delegation to Barbados and Sanjin Soldatic, Head of Political Section, EU Delegation to Trinidad and Tobago, today, Tuesday 10th October, 2023 at the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
At the meeting, His Excellency Peter Cavendish recognized Trinidad and Tobago’s importance to global energy being the second largest supplier of ammonia to the EU and the sixth largest supplier of methanol. Discussions surrounded potential initiatives with respect to energy exports and agreements between Trinidad & Tobago and the EU and the Government’s commitment to incorporate clean energy into the local energy sector. Minister Young indicated that Trinidad and Tobago is well prepared to work with the EU and looks forward to upcoming discussions in the near future.
