Transocean announced that the semisubmersible Development Driller III has been awarded a one-year contract off the coast of Trinidad and Tobago.
The contract is expected to commence in the second quarter 2020 and will contribute approximately $91 million dollars of contract backlog, excluding mobilization reimbursement.
The company did not reveal the operator which granted the contract.
According to the company’s website, the semisubmersible rig can operate in a water depth of up to 7,500ft of water and can achieve a drilling depth of 37,500 ft. The rig is currently in Equatorial Guinea under contract with ExxonMobil. This contract expires in February 2020.
