Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited (PPGPL) continues to establish strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the industry as evidenced by a meeting with His Excellency Victor Hugo Morales Meléndez, Mexican Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago and his senior executives on August 20, 2024. The event is part of a series of planned collaborative efforts with key stakeholders, as PPGPL aggressively pursues its growth agenda for its base business in Trinidad and its US subsidiary, Phoenix Park Energy Marketing LLC (PPEM).
During the discussions, Dominic Rampersad, PPGPL's president and acting president of PPEM elaborated on the strategic importance of Mexico to PPEM, as 90% of PPEM's propane is exported to that country via rail cars. Ambassador Meléndez was pleased to learn of the company's plans to further expand its business into Mexico ensuring that commercial and domestic customers benefit from a reliable and sustainable supply of product from PPEM.
PPEM has positioned itself as a significant supplier of natural gas liquids (NGLs) in the US through the execution of a deliberate growth strategy developed in 2020 by PPGPL. With its acquisition of the Hull terminal in 2022, and later that year, the Rush City Terminal in Minnesota, PPEM has been on a steady expansion path. The Phoenix Park Hull Terminal has doubled its capacity in 2022 and is poised to further increase the outbound capacity by an additional 40%, a testament to the leadership and commitment of the PPGPL and PPEM teams to deliver the company’s ambitious plans.
The Mexican Ambassador pledged the embassy’s support to PPGPL and PPEM with several areas identified for further collaboration including the organization’s global mindset strategy and capacity building. PPGPL will continue to strengthen its partnership with the Mexican Embassy for the benefit of the people of Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico.
