The Joint Chambers of Trinidad and Tobago (comprising the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Energy Chamber, the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad & Tobago, and the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association) have announced a donation of Jamaican $2.5 million (approximately TT$100,000) to the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC) to assist with recovery and relief efforts being coordinated through the Jamaican Private Sector Task Force.

In keeping with international best practices for post-disaster relief, the funds will be used by the JCC to procure urgently needed supplies in Jamaica for immediate distribution to affected communities. The donation was made possible through contributions from member companies of the Joint Chambers, their employees, and members of the public. Trinidad and Tobago’s private sector has consistently demonstrated its commitment to regional solidarity, providing support in times of crisis both at home and across the Caribbean.

The Joint Chambers thank their members and teams for their continued generosity and compassion. The Trinidad and Tobago private sector is committed to strengthening regional private-sector collaboration and to standing in unity with our colleagues across the Caribbean.

Larry Watson, Chief Executive Officer of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce expressed gratitude for the support: “On behalf of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, I extend heartfelt thanks to our colleagues in Trinidad and Tobago for this timely and impactful donation. Your solidarity demonstrates the strength of regional leadership and the unwavering commitment of our private sectors to support one another in times of crisis. These funds will directly bolster our relief operations and help accelerate the restoration of commerce and community resilience across the affected parishes.”
