CEOs of locally operating energy companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding on May 5 to create the Trinidad and Tobago Upstream Operators Group (TTUOG).
The TTUOG will focus on collaboration among companies in the sector to address common challenges. The new group will also explore opportunities for further development.
“The TTUOG is essential to the development of the industry because it will allow stakeholders to tackle challenges and identify opportunities in a manner that would not be possible if they operated individually,” said Norman Christie, Chairman of TTUOG.
The Group will work on initiatives to strengthen the overall competitiveness and continued viability of the energy industry in Trinidad and Tobago for the longer term. Among the areas to be studied will be common standards across the industry.
