Yara Trinidad Ltd. and Trinidad Nitrogen Company Limited recently announced the successful commissioning of three (3) Solar Electric Vehicle (SEV) charging stations at their site. This initiative speaks to their commitment to reducing carbon emissions and advancing the use of sustainable energy solutions.

The SEV charging stations are 100% powered by solar energy, underscoring their impetus to reducing their carbon footprint. By providing this facility, they hope to encourage employees to embrace environmentally friendly transportation options and make meaningful changes toward a greener future.

Treveno Stenn Mowassie, President of Yara Trinidad Ltd., described this as the first step of many more to come. He stated “Every great journey starts with that small step, and this launch is our first demonstrated small step towards a great journey to decarbonizing our operations at a macro scale”.

Ricky Bharat, Maintenance Manager at Yara Trinidad Ltd. reiterated that the initiative reinforces the company’s  ‘Culture of Care’  in their drive to ensure that Yara and Tringen contribute positively to the environment. ‘SVP Production, Pål Hestad, Yara Global Plants witnessed the ceremonial first charge.
