Woodside Energy Trinidad and Tobago is recruiting for the following role: Lead Engineer

.About the Role:

The Lead Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support to the Trinidad and Tobago asset. This position requires interface with Operations,

Subsurface, HSE and other functions, and is responsible for providing technical support to the production facilities, advising on process and production

optimization and supporting the integration of brownfield development projects. This role will report to the Surface Engineering Manager.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in engineering across topsides equipment, subsea flowline and onshore storage and offtake equipment to the operations and maintenance teams. Foster effective relationships with both office and site-based teams. This includes all key engineering disciplines, process, integrity, instrumentation, and automation and mechanical

  • Lead an engineering team that provides front line operational support and oversight for critical processes such as operational surveillance, operational engineering support and critical control health management

  • Lead a team with direct reports of process, integrity systems and mechanical engineers

  • Support workplan development and prioritization with the Surface Engineering Manager, allocating resources and ensuring progression and completion of critical work

  • Mentoring and coaching junior engineers to foster development

  • Develop engineering solutions to ensure safe and reliable operations which may include additional new or temporary equipment

  • Lead or participate as a member of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) teams as required

  • Manage the design, detailed engineering, and work management planning of facilities process modifications using an Management of Change (MOC process

  • Participate in HAZOPs, HAZIDs, LOPAs, other risk assessments and design reviews

  • Provide governance and oversight to ensure engineering practices are carried out in accordance with the required technical standards, processes, and procedures while operating in compliance with local regulations and corporate standards

  • Own and continually improve the process surveillance tools and KPis across the operated facilities

  • Provision of technical expertise and direction into "Case to Operate" scenarios related to process engineering

  • Identify, design, and implement engineering & maintenance change projects as they relate to the process engineering discipline in accordance with

  • Management of Change procedures. Provide review and endorsement where applicable for management of change projects led by others for the facilities

  • Provide guidance to engineering contractors on the application ofWoodside's procedures and guidelines

  • Ensure technical risks are identified and assessments conducted in accordance with Process Safety management procedure requirements

  • Periodic travel to offshore facilities is required to support projects as needed. Trips could be minimum 3 days to in excess of a week

  • Monitor activities and developments in Engineering across industry groups, regulators, and contractors to identify and support implementation of best practices across International Operations

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant Engineering discipline - preferred - Process Engineering or Instrumentation and Automation Engineering.

  • 15+ years' industry related experience, with minimum 10 years supporting producing oil and gas facilities.

  • Leadership experience of multiple discipline engineering teams

  • Detailed knowledge of Process Safety

  • Experience with relevant process safety risk assessments and functional safety tools

  • Experience in Incident Response ( or willing to participate)

  • Professional Engineer / Chartered Engineer status preferred

  • Working knowledge of API codes affecting process design (e.g. API RP 14C, 14E, 520,521)

  • Familiarity with ISA/IEE codes for safety and control systems

  • Familiarity with PI data historian

  • Experience with engineering design, construction, commissioning, and oil and gas operational background

  • Demonstrates strong teamwork and influencing skills

  • Demonstrates HSE leadership in a producing asset environment

  • Demonstrates high levels of autonomy and business acumen

  • Knowledge in system integration - ability to solve complex problems, understanding the interactions between the interfaces
