DOF Group ASA has secured a three-year contract for its vessel Skandi Involver to support subsea operations in Guyana’s Stabroek Block, where ExxonMobil Guyana continues to expand offshore development activities.

OilNOW reported that the contract was awarded though DOF’s North America subsea region. The company announced the award on June 26, with work expected to begin early in the third quarter of 2026. Keith Lewis, General Manager of DOF’s Guyana Division, confirmed to OilNOW that the vessel will be deployed in the Stabroek Block

DOF deployed the award as a “very large contract.” The agreement includes a firm three-year term with two additional one-year extension options.

Under the contract, the Skandi Involver will carry out subsea construction, inspection and maintenance activities, along with well intervention support. The DP3 vessel is equipped with 400-metric-tonne cranes, as well as integrated remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and survey systems, according to DOF.

“This award further underlines DOF’s strong position in the Field Development Support segment and further strengthens our position in a key region,” DOF Group Chief Executive Officer Mons S. Aase said in the company announcement.

According to OilNOW, the contract adds to the growing network of offshore service agreements supporting activity in the Stabroek Block, Guyana’s only producing offshore oil block. The block is operated by ExxonMobil Guyana Limited, with Hess Guyana Exploration Limited and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana Limited as co-venturers.

OilNOW also noted that ExxonMobil is seeking environmental authorization for a 35-well exploration and appraisal campaign in Stabroek Block. If approved, the programme is expected to run from the second quarter of 2028 through the fourth quarter of 2033.
