Nine of the major local and regional upstream oil and gas producers recently presented their near-medium term plans to over 230 members of the Energy Chamber at the annual Upstream Operators Forum 2025.  The annual Upstream Operators Forum is a members-only event at which major oil and gas companies present details of current and upcoming activity and business opportunities with the major upstream companies operating in Trinidad & Tobago.  Service company and contractor members also have the opportunity to talk with members of the operator companies' procurement teams to discuss any specific issues and opportunities.

For the 2025 edition of the Upstream Operators Forum, we were especially pleased to include, for the first time, a presentation from Staatsolie, the state oil company of Suriname, and a longtime member of the Energy Chamber here in Trinidad & Tobago.   We were also delighted to welcome Exxon, one of our newest member companies, who introduced themselves to the wider membership and presented on their upcoming plans for their new deepwater acreage in Trinidad & Tobago.

The information presented at the Forum clearly indicated that there is significant activity underway in both the T&T and Suriname upstream sector and many opportunities exist for local service companies and resident international companies.

During her welcome remarks, Mala Baliraj, Chairperson of the Energy Chamber noted the momentum that T&T's upstream sector is currently experiencing was reflected by the wide representation of upstream players presenting at the forum.    In addition to Exxon and Staatsolie, we had detailed presentations from regular presenters bpTT, Perenco, Shell, EOG Resources Ltd, De Novo Energy and Touchstone Exploration.  We also had a first presentation from the small independent onshore T&T producer, Rennaissance Energy Ltd.  This high level of activity is positive for the local services sector and in the longer-term also is positive for future oil and gas production.

Dr. Thackwray ‘Dax’ Driver, President & CEO of the Energy Chamber expressed his satisfaction at being able to once again host the forum which is designed for the benefit of members only. The participation this year from over 150 different member companies is an indicator of the value and benefit of the information shared at this key event. This year's Forum had the highest ever number of operator companies presenting.
