



Dr. the Honourable Roodal Moonilal, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and the Honourable Ernesto Kesar, Minister in the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries along with other representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Energy Ministries met individually with representatives from major upstream oil and gas producers bp Trinidad and Tobago, Perenco and Woodside Energy.
At the meetings, the Honourable Minister Dr. Moonilal highlighted the Government’s vision for the energy sector and the intention to work with stakeholders to increase production of the country’s hydrocarbon resources.
The Honourable Ministers received updates from the companies on their activities and operations.
The companies all emphasized the importance of T&T operations to their individual global portfolios.
bpTT acknowledged their longstanding presence as a major player in Trinidad and Tobago’s oil and gas sector and indicated that the company is committed to pursuing opportunities in Trinidad and Tobago, to further develop the hydrocarbon resources of the country as well as the exploration of opportunities in the sustainable energy space.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI) and bpTT discussed and agreed on several areas of immediate collaboration that would be progressed to enhance the contribution of the company to the energy sector.
Perenco indicated their commitment to continued focus and investment in the country. Perenco’s recent agreement with Woodside Energy with respect to the acquisition of the Greater Angostura assets as well as ongoing work in the TSP (Teak Samaan Poui) Block as well as the CAFI (Cashima, Amherstia, Flamboyant, Immortelle and Parang) fields demonstrate the company’s commitment to pursuit and production of hydrocarbon resources in Trinidad and Tobago.
Woodside Energy shared that while the company has taken the decision to divest its assets in the Greater Angostura area, they remain committed to pursuing opportunities in Trinidad and Tobago, as demonstrated by the ongoing work in the Calypso field with its joint venture partner, bpTT. The Honourable Minister Dr. Moonilal commended the company for its work and reiterated Government’s interest in the pursuit of projects such as Calypso, as a priority.
The Ministers gave their commitment on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries to continue to work with the companies to ensure maximized production of the country’s natural resources for the benefit of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
