For the third consecutive year, the Innovation and Technology Challenge winner presented their innovative project to delegates and was voted the winner at the T&T Energy Conference. This challenge is designed to recognize groundbreaking and innovative solutions that address key challenges within the energy sector.

This year, we received 17 submissions, which were carefully evaluated by our expert judging panel:

The five finalists who had an opportunity to present their ideas to the conference delegates were:

  • Rum and Sargassum - Generation of Sargassum-Based Biofuel for Sustainable Low-Carbon Transportation in the Caribbean presented by Dr. Legena Henry, Technical Advisor. 

  • Neptune BioSystems - Artificial Hydroelectric Power Generation presented by Simon Neptune, Founder and Chief Technology Officer. 

  • TOSL Engineering - Energy Efficiency through the utilization of low carbon cooling technology in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) presented by Dave Ramnarine, Team Lead, Chemical, Process & Asset Integrity Solutions

  • Ramps Logistics - Mawi - a generative AI solution for customs brokerage presented by Gerard Rique, Manager - Innovations and Solutions.

  •  3BA Allmanda Enterprise - 3BAELS Solar Thermal Powered Dirt Battery presented by Mahalia Joseph, Managing Director.  

After witnessing the impressive pitches, the audience voted for the most innovative project. Ramps Logistics was selected as the winner of the Innovation and Technology Challenge 2025 for their groundbreaking project, Mawi - a generative AI solution for customs brokerage.

The award was presented by Dr. Graham King to Gerard Rique, Manager - Innovations and Solutions at Ramps Logistics. The award trophy, a symbol of excellence in innovation, was designed by renowned local artist Maria Diaz.
