Noble Corporation’s Noble Valiant and Noble Discoverer are scheduled to begin contracts with TotalEnergies offshore Suriname in December 2026, according to the drilling contractor’s latest fleet status report.
The report, published on October 26, lists 16 wells for each rig over an estimated 1,060 days, with both contracts expected to run into the fourth quarter of 2029. It also lists four one-well options across the two contracts. Dayrates were not disclosed.
Noble Valiant is a seventh-generation drillship rated for water depths of up to 12,000 feet. Noble Discoverer is a sixth-generation semisubmersible capable of operating in water depths of up to 10,000 feet.
Noble announced the contracts in April 2025, reporting combined firm revenue of US$753 million and potential additional revenue of US$297 million linked to operational performance. One contract was initially assigned to Noble Developer before being transferred to Noble Discoverer, a change confirmed in January 2026.
TotalEnergies is developing the Sapakara and Krabdagu oil discoveries through its GranMorgu project in offshore Block 58. The development includes a floating production, storage and offloading vessel with a production capacity of 220,000 barrels of oil per day.
In a September 19 project update, TotalEnergies said construction of the vessel, manufacture of subsea equipment and preparations for drilling and offshore installation were progressing. The operator placed the start of drilling and installation activities in early 2027. Noble’s October report lists December 2026 contract commencement dates but does not specify when the first wells will be drilled.
TotalEnergies continues to target first oil from GranMorgu in 2028.
