Touchstone Exploration has updated Energy Minister Dr. Roodal Moonilal on its ongoing operations and future plans in Trinidad and Tobago, with particular focus placed on increasing oil and natural gas production in the short term from the Central Block and Cascadura field.
The meeting was held on August 19th at the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries’ South Office in La Romaine. Touchstone was represented by President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Baay and Exploration Manager Xavier Moonan.
According to the Ministry, the company provided an update on the development of acreage it operates in Trinidad and Tobago, including progress to date and barriers affecting its plans.
Discussions focused particularly on increasing production from the Central Block and from the Cascadura field in the Ortoire Block.
Moonilal reiterated the Government’s commitment to maintaining communication with energy sector stakeholders and to a regulatory environment that supports investment, innovation and competitive performance.
The Minister requested a follow-up meeting for further updates on the matters raised and encouraged Touchstone to maintain its momentum in advancing its onshore exploration and production activities.
Acting Permanent Secretary Ava Mahabir-Dass and the Ministry’s Chief Technical Officer Marc Rudder also attended the meeting.
