United Oil & Gas (United) has announced that it has been granted the Beach licence in Jamaica. This licence enables United to undertake seabed sampling operations within the Walton Morant Basin, offshore Jamaica.
According to the company, this milestone builds on the recent extension of the Walton Morant Licence to January 2028 and the granting of the Environmental Permit, announced on 24 July 2025, marking continued progress in United's permitting for the work program for the Jamaican licence.

The Beach Licence is a continuous licence and renews annually on the 1st April and authorises United to conduct a piston core survey in the foreshore and seabed areas and to collect seabed samples for geochemical analysis, an essential step in assessing hydrocarbon potential. These surveys will enhance United's technical dataset and are specifically designed to de-risk the licence by providing critical information to support prospectivity, including potential hydrocarbon indicators in the seabed. The sampling programme will support ongoing technical workstreams to further de-risk the licence.
Brian Larkin, CEO of United Oil & Gas said, "The granting of the Beach Licence marks another important step forward in our efforts to unlock the potential of the Walton Morant Basin. Seabed sampling will provide valuable geochemical insights that support our technical evaluation and further enhance the prospectivity and value potential of the Walton Morant licence area. With parties engaged in the data room, this progress helps make the asset even more attractive to potential farm-in partners We are grateful to the Jamaican authorities for their continued support and look forward to advancing our work programme in the region."
United holds 100% equity in the Walton-Morant licence.
According to United, this is a 22,400km2 offshore exploration licence, located to the south of the island of Jamaica.
This frontier exploration licence benefits from excellent data coverage, including 2,250km2 of 3D data, and this has helped define multiple plays and prospects and material prospectivity within the acreage. Over 7 billion barrels mean/mid case recoverable unrisked prospective resources have been identified within the Walton Morant licence area. This estimation is based on United’s arithmetic sum of the mean/mid case prospective unrisked resources for each prospect and lead identified by United and previous operators. The licence area includes 21 prospects leads each containing more than 100 million barrels of oil potential. The largest of which potentially contains more than 1.1 billion barrels mid case unrisked prospective recoverable resources.
There are 11 high graded prospects and leads included in the Gaffney Cline and Associates Prospective Resources Report which contain over 2.4 billion barrels of recoverable unrisked mean prospective resources potential, including both 3D-defined prospects and 2D leads.
