BHGE changes its name to Baker Hughes Company

According to a press release by the company, Baker Hughes, a GE company announced its successful name change to Baker Hughes Company. The Company will be known as Baker Hughes, and on Oct. 18, 2019, its Class A common stock will begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “BKR”.

Baker Hughes is uniquely positioned as an energy technology company, with a diverse portfolio that spans the entire energy value chain. The Company’s new name and brand better reflect its current and intended principal business operations and diversified portfolio.

These changes follow the recently-completed secondary offering of shares of Class A common stock and concurrent share repurchase, bringing General Electric Company and its affiliates’ ownership in the Company to below 50 percent of the voting power of all classes of the Company’s voting stock.

Energy Chamber mourns the passing of Dennis Patrick, CEO of Methanol Holdings Trinidad Limited (MHTL)

The Board and Executive Office of the Energy Chamber is very saddened at the sudden passing of Dennis Patrick, CEO of Methanol Holdings Trinidad Limited (MHTL).   Mr. Patrick was an active member and supporter of the Energy Chamber in his capacity as CEO of MHTL and was a presenter at our TTEC 2019 in February at Hyatt Regency.   He will be remembered as a well-respected leader in the energy sector.  We extend sincere condolences to his family and the MHTL and the Proman Group on Mr. Patrick’s  untimely passing.   May he rest in peace.

Touchstone spuds Coho-1 in Ortoire

Touchstone spudded the Coho-1 exploration well on the Ortoire exploration block on August 7, 2019 using Well Services rig #80. The Coho-1 well is targeting gas prospects in the Herrera formation at depths between 5,200 and 8,500 feet.
