Course Overview:

Accidents often occur in our working environment. To ensure that employers create and maintain a safe and healthy working place, accidents will need to be investigated. Proper investigation will identify the root causes and help personnel devise strategies, procedures and rules to avoid them in the future. This workshop will introduce participants to the importance of Accident Investigation in Safety and Health Management as an integral part of the overall conducting and facilitation of business operations.

Course Structure:

The Accident Investigation Training programme is a two-day highly interactive, training session. Topics to be covered include:

  • Accident causation models

  • Accident investigation techniques

  • Reasons for investigating

  • Collection of evidence

  • Interviewing techniques

  • The importance of culture in investigations
