”Green Hydrogen” has become increasingly prominent as a key enabler bringing the Global Energy Transition to the next level (“Global Energy Transition 2.0”).

“Green Hydrogen“ is seen by many as the key for deep de-carbonization of the industrial sectors beyond the power sector (Sector Coupling).  As a result of T&T’s unique energy sector composition and design, it finds itself in a position to positively benefit from the advent of hydrogen in our own energy transition undertaking.

Through “grey”, “blue”, and in particular “green” hydrogen, T&T has the potential to simultaneously lower the carbon footprint of our twin islands while also:

  1. Improving the energy efficiency of our power sector

  2. Incentivizing the use of renewable energy in our energy sector, and

  3. Sustaining production from our petrochemical sector while contributing to a de-carbonized environment

At the workshop you will:

  • Have the opportunity to learn and enquire about the advent of the hydrogen economy in Trinidad and Tobago.

  • Explore what possibilities and opportunities exist for T&T’s business and energy sector community to get involved in this energy transition initiative.

  • Leave with first-hand knowledge to position yourself as a first mover in what has the potential to be a new industry in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Workshop Presenters include:

  • Senator the Honourable Minister Robert Le Hunte, Minister of Public Utilities, who has been a leading GORTT advocate for the utilisation of Hydrogen in the national landscape as a low carbon economy enabler

  • Dr Dale Ramlakhan, Chair-Renewable and Energy Efficiency Sub-Committee-who is a leading Hydrogen advocacy group on behalf of the Chamber

  • Philip Julien, Managing Director, Kenesjay Systems – an established local energy sector project development and consultancy firm, who is a key proponent for Hydrogen utilisation in T&T’s Energy Sector.

  • Matthias Roidl, Regional Director Sales Gas & Power Central America and Caribbean, Siemens - Siemens is a leading global industrial conglomerate that strongly focuses on de-carbonization by employing hydrogen technology.

A panel discussion will follow the presentations.
