The Centre for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) recently held a one-day meeting in Trinidad and Tobago, featuring a series of presentations from industry professionals engaged in process safety. At the meeting, Heritage Petroleum’s CEO Erik Keskula gave welcoming remarks and started by saying “If there’s something that keeps me up at night it’s process safety”. Heritage Petroleum was the lead sponsor of the event and hosted the event alongside the CCPS.
Tiger Tanks is the first private sector company in T&T to complete an extensive GHG inventory and mitigation assessment. Over the past few months, the company has partnered with the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) to conduct the assessment. Touchstone has safely commissioned the flowline connecting the Cascadura C surface location to the Cascadura natural gas processing plant, which ties in our Cascadura-2ST1 and Cascadura-3ST1 wells. It was recently announced that Perenco would be acquiring five of bpTT’s assets. This is a big step up in Trinidad for the Anglo-French company which has been the operator of the Teak, Samaan and Poui (TSP) fields since they purchased the assets from Repsol in 2016. The acquisition of bpTTs assets means that the company will now be the operator of gas fields, rather than the traditional oil acreage in Trinidad.

The Hon. Stuart Young, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Energy Industries toured the Mento platform at the TOFCO fabrication yard in La Brea. The platform is in the final stages of construction as it gets ready for sailaway within the coming weeks.
The Honourable Stuart Young met with senor executives from bpTT at the International Waterfront Complex in Port of Spain. At the meeting, David Campbell, President, bpTT indicated that the seismic acquisition for the Manakin-Cocuina field was completed, and the data collected is now at the processing stage. The Minister also received updates on drilling operations at the Cypre development and construction of the 92mw solar project.
