Job Title (Vacancy): PAYROLL CLERK

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Collect, verify, calculate weekly/monthly timesheets ensuring the information is accurate and enter data.

  2. Update payroll records entering changes/adjustments in employee employment contract as required.

  3. Investigate, resolve and rectify timesheet/payroll discrepancies, obtaining supervisory approval for discrepancies.

  4. Process employee advances and/or retroactive payments (as required and with the appropriate approvals).

  5. Calculate and prepare statutory deductions.

  6. Balance job costs on a weekly basis, ensuring total number of hours are allocated to correct job(s) and prepare weekly job cost reports.

  7. Respond to, process and/or resolve requests and/or queries from employees as required.

  8. Process employee claims and benefits.

  9. Process and issue annual forms to employees.

Desired qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 O’Level Subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

  • 2-3 years relevant experience in a Finance/Accounting/Payroll Environment, a similar position or related field.

  • Demonstrated experience in the use of applicable Payroll Software preferably MicroPay and Microsoft Office Suite including spreadsheet and database applications.

  • Flexible, ability to work under pressure and within time constraints.
