Job Title (Vacancy): Cost Estimator

Duties and responsibilities: The Cost Estimator is responsible for the accurate calculation of the total costs associated with a project based on the project’s scope of works, commercial terms, and technical specifications. He/she will also be responsible for developing the project’s execution strategy, project schedule, quality and safety plans with support from relevant SMEs

At a minimum, the Estimator is responsible for reviewing tender documents, analyzing and understanding the scope of works, applicable codes and standards, preparing subcontractor RFQ packages and negotiating subcontractor prices, preparing detailed activity step outs, execution strategy, method statement, construction schedule, associated resource loading and ultimately the bid price for management review and approval.

Desired qualifications: Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• B.Sc. Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Integrated) or equivalent combination of training and work experience.
• Proficient in the use of MS Projects and/or Primavera planning and scheduling software
• Demonstrated competence and/or competencies normally acquired over a minimum of five (5) years’ experience working on construction or maintenance projects within the oil and gas/construction industry.
