Job Title (Vacancy): Senior Drilling Engineer

Duties and responsibilities: The Senior Drilling Engineer is responsible for accurately delivering the well process closeout of projects assigned to him/her; from offset of well review until end of well reports. When required, (s)he will lead vessel (rig etc.), equipment and contractor selection to support high industry safety standards, efficiency (operational, cost etc.) and project execution. (S)he will act as a mentor for any junior staff. Projects are various, ranging from drilling (mainly) and rig integration to completion/workover.

Desired qualifications:

  • MSc. Degree in Engineering

  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience, most of which has been with exposure in shallow water offshore fields (jack up, modular/platform rigs etc), drilling, completion and workover.

  • Advanced knowledge of offshore rigs, materials and equipment needed for typical well construction activities.

  • Intimate knowledge of the well construction processes and the relevant engineering contents, and ability to review complex and ERD well design and engineering, with the aim to guarantee best practices and standards, and provide technical assurance and integrity

  • Extensive use of Well Design software (Landmark, DSP-One…Etc) for Well Planning, Casing Design, Torque & Drag, Hydraulics…etc. is necessary.

  • Capability to work closely and support multi-disciplinary team of professionals (Subsurface Team, Contracts, HSE, Purchasing, Logistics etc.) in planning and executing completion and workover projects.

  • Previous exposure to similar multi-well development pre-feasibility studies would be an asset.

  • Previous experience in integration of drilling or workover rig is an asset

  • Able to use A-CAD is an asset

  • English language skills are a necessity; French would be advantageous.

  • T-BOSIET, UKOOA medical certificate

  • International Well Control Forum (IWCF) Level 4 certification
